Google is now changing the way how the results will be given to the users and the users will also see something different about results when they search on the mobile device. Google is now going to add AMP trump App URLs in the mobile search results. AMP actually stands for Accelerated Mobile Pages that are now moving beyond the top stories with the organic mobile search results. It means that whenever any user downloads the app, Google will not send him to the deep links if the website has active AMP URLs. If the website has a mobile app with the Firebase App Indexing or formally called Google App Indexing and enabled AMP URLs too then Google will show the AMP URLs over the deep link of the page to the users. Again, if the visitor of the website has downloaded the app and the website also deployed the Firebase App Indexing then Google will send the user to the app. Users will be taken directly to the AMP URL now as AMP is rolling out at the core of Google mobile search results.

As a consequence of this App Indexing, users can see the drop in the clicks and impressions because AMP is now going to be listed before App URLs. Actually, people get a bit disappointed with the fact that Google will now give priority to AMP pages over the mobile app. Moreover, this shows that Google will not show any app URLs to anyone. So users who download the app and click on the results on a website from the Google mobile search will be taken directly to the AMP page. According to Google’s lead product manager Rudy Galfi, the global rollout would get completed by the end of this year. He further added that the AMP pages are not getting any special boost. Google is expecting great user response with respect to this latest change and is humbled by the adoption of the change. According to the data available, there are around six hundred million AMP-enabled documents that are apparently up from 150 million this summer. Google said that AMP documents extend beyond news content into travel, cooking, shopping, e-commerce, entertainment and among various other categories.
