Bendable Smartphone by a Chinese Start up
A small Chinese start up firm says that it is about to unveil unique smartphones. Such Smartphone devices would be capable of twisting around the wrist just like any watch.
The device is made by Moxi Group. It has a touch screen which is capable of working even when it is worn like bracelet or watch. The function of Smartphone device is not limited to a bendable form only. It is capable of working in stretched form too like any other Smartphone device.
The basic material used in screen is the graphene. This material is said to be the most thin, strong, glassy and transparent material in the world. Moxi official told that a prototype of the Smartphone has already been built. The company plans to make almost 100,000 units. These would be sold in China at the end of 2016.
Up till now, no company has been able to bring such Smartphone in market which is fully stretchable too. If the company succeeds in pulling it off, then it would be great innovation in mobile phone technology.
Initial Release with Black and White Display
Still, it is said that phone will have an initial display of white and black colors only. The company is working on bringing the colored version of device. The release of updated device with color versions would be followed soon after the release of initial device with black and white display. Basically creating such phones with color display is a technically challenging task. Company might release the updated version by the end of 2018 if launch is to be any later.
Apple has also received a patent that could make such flexible device. The drawing received more than two dozen ways by which such device could be wrapped.
The success of Moxi can be attributed to the fact that company actually specialized in manufacture Graphene. Company’s name is pronounced as Mou shi in Chinese.
