Borrell associates have been tracking the data since 2008 and they say that this projected amount for 2016 is more than triple that of 2008.

    Of this total amount, US companies will be spending about 65 USD for SEO and this has been predicted to increase to $72 billion in 2018 and $79 billion by 2020. Of this local businesses will be responsible for the 2/3rd of the value and the rest by the huge companies which have their own dedicated team that work on the SEO elements of their business.

    The exact split detail for US companies spending on SEO has been released by Borrell Associates. One of the most interesting spending on SEO is to keep track of the site visitor rate and its details and the amount spent on this will be about 1.50 billion dollars. This data plays a crucial role for the company to know who visits the site, from where, and what they do while on the site. This helps the company to work better on the most demanded areas by the visitors. There are several providers who give websites clear-cut visitor information.

    The next in trend is blog development and the estimated amount spent on this will be $790 million. With the advent of video formats, this will eventually decline in the coming years. The balance amounts will be spent on listing claims and getting hold of email lists. The email list purchases are declining greatly since the recent years as there is an option for viewers to opt in for newsletter and subscriptions and people do not prefer to be spammed in their mailboxes which will lead to fall in reputation of the business.
