Huawei Sues Samsung
Huawei has claimed that its patents are being infringed by its tech rival Samsung. Due to this, the Smartphone Company plans to sue the Samsung.
According to Huawei which is a China-based firm, Samsung the South Korea Based firm will be sued at two courts. These courts exist in Shenzhen and California.
Huawei accuses the Samsung for using its several inventions in their Smartphone devices without taking permission from them. The company has not revealed about the patents that it has accused Samsung of using.
Samsung told while talking to BBC that it would do its best to defend it business interests.
Huawei says that some of these patents can be regarded as Frand; this word is an acronym of fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory. In other words, Huawei is committed to issue a license to its patents as far as the receiver agrees for non-excessive compensation.
Technical Use of Agreement
Such agreements are very common to be used in the technology sector. Two companies basically exchange information and formats of tech products. This is the same technique that Huawei intends to use in fact. The company plans to get information or patents of the Samsung’s Products instead of getting payments.
Din Jianxing the Intellectual Property Chief of Huawei told that Company has signed many cross-licensing agreements with many other of its competitors too. He further seemed to be hopeful about Samsung’s response. He said, “Our Company is hopeful that Samsung will stop infringing Huawie’s patents and get the required license from Huawei”.
Samsung’s Spokesperson told BBC in an e-mail that it would review complaints and then defend its company’s business interests accordingly.
Patent War between Tech Giants
Another clash of patent war is waiting for verdict from Jury in the US. It is among the Google and Oracle. The similar clash took place between Apple and Samsung Back in 2011.
