After eight months of its official launch, Google has finally come up with YouTube Gaming Android and iOS apps in India along with the Philippines and many other countries. Being a user, you can also start grabbing its benefits and start downloading right away. Although the web version of this app will be available from June, the apps though, were limited to US and the UK. Being a competitor to Twitch, the apps can now be downloaded from both the respective app stores for iOS and Android.
YouTube claims that their game streaming platform offers their user more faster and seamless gaming experience which they never had before. The interface of the platform shows the list of all the users along with featured channels and popular channels.
Usually, the Gamers will also find a long list of trending games with Games tab. Side by side, they can also browse channels with the help of Channels tab. In addition, with the assistance of games tab. users can also go through the list of upcoming events and competitions which is going to take place in a particular game.
It is of no doubt that YouTube gaming will obviously borrow some of its common features from those of general YouTube video channel layout. So, if you start comparing with its rival, Twitch, YouTube Gaming is now offering no additional features, but yes, it definitely brings a satisfying live streaming experience and the ability to pause a live stream.
Unlike the IOS version, users of the Android version will get a special perk which is Live Stream of their game play directly from a mobile device. While tapping “Go Live”, the YouTube app will record users through the microphone and selfie camera on the smartphone. With just over 500K downloads in comparison to those of two Million plus downloads of the Twitch app, it is quite clear that Twitch users are very loyal to their brand. As for now, only time will tell who comes out on top.
