    Whatsapp copies the Snapchats biggest camera feature

    In the latest update from Facebook’s war on Snapchat, Whatsapp has introduced its camera function feature similar to Snapchat. Whatsapp has added some new stickers in its camera and this feature is originally used and introduced by Snapchat. With this latest camera feature, users can draw or write on videos and photos and can also add emoji to express themselves. When a user captures any photo or video similar to the ones that are in user’s phone, then Whatsapp will automatically show them editing tools. This camera feature of Whatsapp also supports the zooming feature for recording videos and the front- facing flash. These latest features are rolled out on Android phones yet and will soon be available on iPhone too.

    Facebook is trying to snatch Snapchat popularity

    Snapchat is gaining huge popularity these days and Facebook just wants to snatch the popularity of this budding social media company by implementing different strategies. Facebook is now testing another feature called Messenger Day which is very much similar to the stories feature of Snapchat. Another Snapchat similar feature that Facebook testing now is the selfie first home screen and it’s testing is going on in Brazil and Canada.

    Facebook’s Billion user mark

    In thus July, Facebook has reached the billion user mark globally and it is now racing ahead of Snapchat in terms of MAU’s and DAU’s in Q2 2016. According to the data provided by comScore, the growth between DAU to MAU in the fourth quarter stood at 66.4 percent and for the second quarter, it grew to 89.8 percent.

    According to recent reports, Snapchat is now second to Facebook in terms of time spent on the app and outpacing Facebook in terms of video sharing and news.

    This feature combines the encryption options of Whatsapp service with the availability of posts on Snapchat. This technology uses the signal protocol that is developed by the Open Whisper Systems.
