WhatsApp has just introduced a new feature called mentions in Group Chats. This feature provides the user facility to tag individuals in a group chat. The mentions feature has already gone live on iOS and Android. The mentions feature is already working on Facebook and Twitter that made the conversation much easier. WhatApp has now also added this mentions feature to group chats in its latest version of the beta app #2.16.272
Mentions feature aim
The mentions feature aimed to make the conversations easier, convenient and simple. Mentions feature is a very useful feature to get connected with a particular person in any family or official group. Generally, people get confused or trapped in a Group Chat as multiple people send messages simultaneously in Group Chats. For tagging a person inside group chat, just type @ symbol and you will be shown with the list of group members that you can tag. Tap on the name of the particular person that you want to talk with and then send the message. Mentions will be shown in ‘blue’ as a link and on tapping the link; it will show the profile page of that individual.
GIF is here now
Another useful feature that the world was eagerly waiting for that is GIF images is now finally here. WhatsApp now supports Gif images on all Smartphone devices and it will hopefully receive a warm welcome from the world.

 WhatsApp has installed some other new features also like share PDFs, Docs, ability to format text and share files from third party apps like iCloud, Google Drive, Microsoft’s One Drive.
Integration with iOS 10 Siri
In iOS 10, WhatsApp has now made integration with Siri and let the users make WhatsApp calls or send messages directly from Apple’s voice assistant.

WhatsApp has announced that soon all the messages from your Airlines or Bank will also be shown on the app. According to reports, WhatsApp is also planning to add the ability to add scribble on photos and selfies with flash.
Privacy Concern
 However, WhatsApp is facing huge criticism for its new privacy policy change, according to which it will share information of users like the phone number with its parent company Facebook.
Upcoming video calling feature
It is reported that WhatsApp is soon going to introduce its new video calling feature that will firstly make its debut on iOS app and later makes its way to Windows and Android. This feature is expected to bring one-to-one video conversation.
