Google has recently launched its messaging app Allo that initially landed into some controversy for not using default end-to-end encryption mode and providing privacy only in the Incognito mode. The reason behind this are the smart replies and Google Assistant as Google needs to access your messages for offering these services and all this depend on knowing what the user is talking about or have talked in the past. With the launch of Allo app, Erik Kay who is a Google’s director of engineering for the communication products said that all that chat messages would be read by Google server but all these messages will be stored transiently and then deleted automatically after a while. But now Google is not doing the same thing actually as the product has launched. Google stores your all Allo chat messages on the server even after you decided to delete them. It will get deleted only after the person you were chatting also deletes those messages.
Google Allo Incognito mode
This is exactly similar to how Google handles emails and hangout messages. But in today’s environment, all the expectations related to security and privacy is getting much higher. A government agency could get a warrant if the messages get stored on Google server and can get easy access to them. There is only one way to prevent Google from storing your all Allo chats is to use it in its Incognito mode but by using this mode users will lose all those features that make the Allo an interesting chat app. All this shows that Google hadn’t tested the app properly and in the meantime company has realized that features like smart replies and Google Assistant will not work properly unless the algorithms have the full access to the chat history.
Google Allo reviews
Now Google Assistant is getting different mixed reviews from the users worldwide. Google Allo has now landed in the prohibited H20 after the initial backtracking on progressing remoteness promises. Google Allo is a good app for those who don’t care much about privacy concerns. But if you are more privacy concerned person then definitely Google Allo is not for you. Although there is a method available in Google app to ensure security in Google Allo through Incognito mode but still it’s risky. Meanwhile, everyone around the world is trying Google Allo and generally people around the globe are happy with Google Assistant and smart replies.
