Two students studying in IIT, one among them have launched a mobile app that uses an algorithm to find out the alternative ways of getting seats on the train.
The App is used for an easy booking of train seats. The App is named as “Ticket Jugaad”.
Let’s know how to use the App-
- The app is developed by the second year IIT student named Jagu from Kharagpur along with his cousin Shubham Balvada, NIIT from Jamshedpur.
- There are some station-wise quotas for booking tickets.
- Let’s consider it for an example if you are booking a ticket from station A, you might get waiting list but if you book it from the previous station you might get the ticket. In order for easy go for passengers, the app has been automated by the developer Jagu.
- Recently, the students have won start-up prize of 1.5lakh in IIT Kharagpur’s Annual Global Business Model Competition.
- This app automatically finds tickets that are available starting from the stations before and after the source station in order to provide passengers maximum path that can be covered by a confirmed ticket.
- The shortcomings of IRCTC are used as the strength of the mobile application. Normally, a person can book the ticket on IRCTC website & at a railway station.
- He can only see the available trains on the route between the source and destination stations. Every station has its quota of tickets, this is what the ticket jugaad had cashed upon.
- The app is simple to use and easy. The application is available on all the Android phones. It gives two options.
- First one is info view- is to view which provides the route and alternate ticket information.
- The other one-route view which shows the alternate tickets on the actual route of the train with all stations and train timings.
