Amazon is now closing the gap in online Smartphone sales with Flipkart, as this US giant is gaining high market share in the first half of the year and has also dislodged the Sanpdeal from the second position. According to the data mentioned in the Hong-Kong based Counterpoint Technology Market, Amazon the world’s largest online retailer ended with a cut of 32% at the end of April-June quarter and we can consider it a high gain from the previous 21.5% at the end of December. But still, Flipkart is ahead of Amazon in the sale of online Smartphones with 40% of the market in the quarter, in spite of the fact that its share has narrowed in December from 47.5%. Country’s biggest three rivals Flipkart, Snapdeal, and Amazon is expecting to improve their market positions in the October-December Quarter as the festive season of the country holds the biggest opportunity for these companies to generate more profit. All the marketplaces have already increased their stock with two or three times and have launched their various impressive sales offer.

Both Amazon and Flipkart opened the booking of Apple iPhone 7 on Friday that goes on October 7. According to a senior analyst at Counterpoint Research, the war among Marketplaces in India is only due to the fact that the trend of electronic gadgets and Smartphone devices has grown immensely and thus enables the companies to generate high revenue. The sale of Smartphones through online market gives the 33% of revenue to e-commerce and this amount is expected to increase by 35% in 2016. Flipkart has launched its all Smartphone devices across marquee brands over last few quarters. All the Smartphone and e-commerce companies find India a very competitive place to sell the electronic and Smartphone devices.

The competition among Flipkart and Amazon has raised a lot in last two years. Flipkart is still earning a high percentage of profit than Amazon as its total share is 42% while Amazon owns 21%. Amazon India has the partnership with many leading mobile brands such as Coolpad, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Lenovo, Meizu, Yu, and Blu. Flipkart is now the official online reseller of Apple iPads, iPhones, and Macs and has also started booking for the latest iPhone 7, limited to Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru.
